Self-care is so important – especially for entrepreneurs, and art-making is my favourite way to calm my mind and my nerves. Even a 5 minute doodling break, with no pressure and no expectation of results can be a great reset on a particularly stressful day, or a way to start your morning with some fun and creativity.
I invite you to set aside an hour for this video workshop, grab whatever art supplies you have handy and try it out!
🖌️🎨 Ready to dive into the workshop? You can find the video here. 🖌️🎨
(I use watercolour paints in the demonstration, but you can use markers, crayons, or whatever you have handy. Even a pen and paper is perfect!)
This video is part of a series that Karla Smith and I did together last year. Karla is a personal transformation coach who helps women take better care of themselves through self-love.
She starts us off in the workshop with some self-care practices to help shift from the busy-ness of the day to our creative time.
I share just a few simple art techniques and prompts to maybe help get you started, and then we just play music and make art together.
This video is particularly suited to busy entrepreneurs, to help you settle into a grounded state and shift your nervous system and brain into a more flowy creative state.
If you’re addicted to work and productivity, consider this hour important maintenance work on your business’ most important asset – you. 😉
No art experience needed. This isn’t about results or technique. It’s about taking an hour to relax and experiment with line and colour, seeing what you discover.
Art making is my favourite was to relax and meditate, or sometimes to gently think my way through a problem or something I want to create. It relaxes the mind and leaves you feeling grounded and present; calm and peaceful regardless of the circumstances.
Karla and I both hope you have a lovely weekend full of self-love, self-care and flowy fun.
We’d love to know how you liked the workshop and what you got out of it in the comments, and feel free to share this. The more soothed souls, the better. ❤️
